Dr. Katras began her career by graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) before becoming a pastry chef traveling across Europe and the United States. After a decade, she felt a change and set her sights on becoming an orthodontist.
She enrolled in the dental program at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis, where her dedication and hard work brought her to graduate at the top of her class. Following graduation, she committed to honing her skills further by completing her residency training in orthodontics.
After her residency, Dr. Katras returned to her roots in East Tennessee to practice orthodontics. She became known for her work as the orthodontist on the multidisciplinary cleft lip and palate team at Niswonger Children’s Hospital.
She holds board certification from the American Board of Orthodontics. She has memberships in The American Association of Orthodontics, The American Dental Association, The American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association, and many others.
